Health and Safety at Work - Advice and Training

The Environmental Health team can provide advice and information to the public and businesses on Health and Safety at Work.

Basic information on health and safety in small business and startup companies can be found at Safe Startup

Every year two million people in the UK suffer from illnesses they believe are caused or made worse by their work.

Workplace Health Connect is a Government funded service that provides confidential, practical and free advice to smaller businesses in England and Wales on any workplace health and safety issue. It also provides advice on managing sickness absence and return to work.

Call the Adviceline on 0845 609 6006 and you can speak directly with specialist advisers.

In some areas, businesses may also be eligible for a free workplace visit by a trained adviser. During the workplace visit you will be given tailored, practical advice on a range of issues that affect workplace health (things like lifting heavy items, handling chemicals, risk assessments, working at a VDU, or working in loud or dusty environments etc).

Contact Workplace Health Connect more information, or to arrange for an adviser to call you back.
