Hackney's State of the Historic Environment Report

The State of the Historic Environment Report was launched at the Hackney Empire on 1st December 2005.
Produced by the Conservation & Design Team and Urban Practitioners, this report sets out the Council’s strategy to protecting the best of the borough’s rich architectural heritage. Mayor Pipe gave the opening speech and said “….The Council is pioneering its stewardship of the historic environment and its role in regeneration …” The audience also heard form Councillor Geoffrey Taylor, the Council’s Heritage Champion and Drew Bennellick – Head of Regional Partnerships for English Heritage’s London Region.
