Gritting and Snow Clearance
The decision to grit roads is based on 4 weather forecasts received each 24 hours from the met office. These forecasts give the anticipated road surface temperature and the predicted weather forecast for the night ahead. If the forecast anticipates conditions that require gritting to take place, then the gritting lorries are instructed to start gritting at a specified time as instructed by the engineer.
Why haven’t you gritted my road?
