Household Waste
There are a number of different services available for residents depending on what sort of property you live in - you can find out more on the pages on the left.. We provide a collection to all residents at least once a week.
We also encourage everyone to cut down on your rubbish in the first place, visit our waste prevention page for more information - see related links on the right.
If you have just moved into the borough and would like to know when your rubbish will be collected, you can either download the schedule available on the right, or call our Wasteline
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide containers and bins for household waste.
What to expect from your household waste collection:
- We will collect your rubbish from collection points or in front of your property. Please make sure you put your rubbish out in a sealed refuse sack or plastic bag and put it in your dustbin, wheelie bin, communal bins or storage areas
- Only put rubbish out on the footpath the night before collection and only if you don't have a bin or your bin is full
- Always make sure your rubbish is where the refuse collectors can easily get to it on collection day. They will not lift or carry bins or bags over stairwells or other obstacles if the rubbish
- We try to complete all collections and will notify you in advance of any changes to your collection day. If we miss your collection for any reason, please report the Wasteline number on the right
- We make sure no rubbish remains in bins after emptying; and will leave streets clear and clean after collection
