Minister welcomes Hackney's record crime fall:

Home Office Minister Tony McNulty visited Hackney in January to talk to Mayor Jules Pipe about Hackney had achieved the biggest fall in crime in London - 28% since 2003/4, achieving its target 18 months early. More information
Big changes to recycling
Following trial schemes which resulted in a 20 per cent increase in waste recycling over the past year, recycling became compulsory for all residents in street level properties from 1 March. More information
Abolition
In March Deputy Mayor Cllr Jamie Carswell opened an exbition at Hackney Museum to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade. More information
