Have your say about Hackney parks
Would you like to have a say in what happens in Hackneys parks and greens spaces?
Hackney Parks Forum supports individuals and organisations that use parks to form User Groups that can keep a watch over their parks, generate ideas for improvement and campaign to improve them for the benefit of all.They are a community resource open to everyone and provide –
- an environment of tranquillity and beauty
- a space for families and friends to enjoy together
- leisure activities such as sports and other events
- a focal point for the community
Some of the improvements Users Groups have been involved in so far are –
- the regeneration of Clapton Pond
- the imminent improvement of Mansion House in Clissold Parkhe restoration of the London Fields Lido
- the imminent restoration of Springfield Park Conservatory
- the planting of trees and plants plus other conservation projects
- public events such as the Wells Street Common annual festival
- the creation of play areas
These groups have contributed to the life of parks and green spaces in Hackney and their contribution is through the voluntary activity of a wide variety of citizens who all feel strongly about the retention and development of these spaces.
