I am a trader, why I have been told to comply with the law whilst other traders have not?
All traders are required to comply with the law. The traders you have observed may not be aware of the law. Please can you contact Consumer Direct and inform them of what you have seen. Consumer Direct will forward this information to the Trading Standards Service(s) where the trader(s) are located. The service may contact you for more information to enable them to take whatever action they deem is appropriate to enable other traders to comply.

How do I make a complaint regarding goods sold by a retailer(s)?
Please contact Consumer Direct and give them full details of your complaint. They will advise you on how to seek redress. They may refer your complaint to the Trading Standards Service to take whatever action is appropriate. The service may contact you for more information to enable them to take action.
