Project Base

Project Base is a week long film business skills program for producers. The program will use a combination of producer training, project development and network creation to develop managerial, development and strategic skills. This program is being supported by Skillset's Film Skills Fund.

Location: East London.
Course Dates: 20/04/08 to 24/04/08
Times: 10am to 5pm. Friday 24 April 6pm onwards networking.
Fee: £50

Project Base is a 5 day intensive program developed for producers who are moving from short films to producing their first feature film. It seeks to actively recruit from groups currently underrepresented in the UK film industry workforce particularly from BAME backgrounds.

Each day is facilitated by a producer and includes guest speakers from specialised areas of the industry: The course will conclude with an opportunity to pitch you project to a panel of industry experts followed by a networking event.

Topics covered are: Development and Contracts; Markets, Communities and Audience; Finance and Packaging; Digital Technologies and Distribution, The Art of Pitching and Negotiating.

The course will be taking place as part of the East End Film Festival 2009 and will be delivered by the New Producers Alliance. The training venue will be based in East London. Recruitment is by application only. Candidates should send a DVD show-reel of previous work, a CV, a completed diversity and monitoring form which can be downloaded from www.npa.org.uk/content.asp?newsdetail=539 and a one page synopsis of their feature film in development to:

Deadline

Deadline for all applications is 23/02/09. Successful applicants will be informed by 03/04/09 and will be required to pay a fee of fifty pounds prior to the commencement of the course.
