What should I do if I have large amounts of garden waste?

You can order an extra brown bin or a re-usable bag. You can also transport waste yourself to a household waste disposal site or make use of the free bulky waste service.

What happens to my garden waste?

All food waste and garden waste collected in Hackney is delivered to a composting facility operated by London Waste Ltd in Edmonton, North London, where it is broken down into compost. This compost is then made available to Hackney to use on its parks and green spaces. View a Flash animation of how the process works.
