What should I do if I have large amounts of garden waste?
You must not put Japanese knotweed in with your garden waste or general rubbish. The government has guidance on treating and diposing of invasive plants. If you have Japanese knotweed or other invasive plants on your land you should contact a specialist contractor to remove and dispose of it properly.
What happens to my garden waste?
All food waste and garden waste collected in Hackney is delivered to a composting facility operated by London Waste Ltd in Edmonton, North London, where it is broken down into compost. This compost is then made available to Hackney to use on its parks and green spaces.
