What can be recycled in schools?
The same materials can now be recycled at home and at school to make it simple to remember what should go in the recycling bin and what should go in the rubbish.
Your school will have a paper bin and a mixed recycling bin - see below for what you can recycle in each.
What can I recycle using our school's paper bin?

You can recycle the following materials in the paper bin:
- catalogues
- envelopes (including those with windows)
- magazines
- newspapers
- office paper
- junk mail
- post-it notes
- telephone directories
Please note: the recycling crew cannot collect paper towels or paper covered in glue/paint.
What can I recycle using our school's mixed recycling bin?

Please put the below materials in the mixed recycling bin:
- aerosols
- cardboard (including corrugated cardboard)
- cartons
- drink cans
- food tins
- mixed glass
- plastic packaging.
Please note:
- Aerosols must be empty, but please don't squash or pierce them.
- Due to our collection vehicles and collection methods, whole cardboard boxes or large pieces of cardboard can not be collected. Please ensure all large boxes are flattened and broken down, otherwise your recycling may not be collected.
- All colours of glass are accepted, but please remove lids from jars and do not put broken glass in the mixed recycling bin.
- Please ensure that all tins and cans are rinsed and emptied before placing in the mixed recycling bin.
