Renew your resident parking permit
We aim to send a reminder letter to all permit holders, but please don't wait to hear from us. It's your responsibility to renew your permit on time.
If your address and vehicle details have not changed since your last application, you can now renew online. Otherwise, visit the change of vehicle or address details page.
To renew online you will need:
- your existing valid resident permit number
- your vehicle registration number
- your supporting documents, if it's three years since you submitted them - see the 'three-year rule'
- a debit or credit card
Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria, have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of Usage (PDF).
You can renew your permit up to six weeks before the expiry date.
Supporting documents - the 'three-year rule'
If your address, vehicle and name have not changed since you applied for your current resident permit, you may fall into the 'three-year rule'. This means supporting documents are valid in our system for three years.
However, your documents must be valid for the lifetime of your permit. If the three years is up before your new permit expires, you will need to resubmit your documents.
For example
Documents submitted on 27 November 2008 (valid until 27 November 2011) for a permit starting on 1 December 2008:
- accepted for first year renewal to 1 December 2009
- accepted for second year renewal to 1 December 2010
- not accepted for third year renewal 1 December 2011 as the documents will have expired on 27 November 2011
We can only accept documents in the following formats (JPEG/ JPG and BMP of 1MB or less).
Please note: the three year rule does not apply to foreign registered vehicles or three-month permits.
