Boundary Commission for England 2013 review of parliamentary constituencies
The Boundary Commission for England is the independent public body that reviews all Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England every five years. These boundaries specify which Members of Parliament (MPs) you can vote for.
Between September and December 2011, the Commission carried out public consultation on initial proposals for new parliamentary constituencies. The propsosed changes would see a reduction in the total number of constituencies (the area an MP represents) in England from 533 to 502, and would make sure that each constituency has similar numbers of people registered to vote. In many cases this means changing the existing boundaries.
All the representations received by the closing date will be published at noon on 6 March 2012. You will then have the opportunity to see and comment on what was said.
To find our more about the proposals, and how you can have your say, visit the Boundary Commission for England website.
