Railcard
A Railcard (or other travel concession) is available to local people if they are aged 60 and over, they are physically disabled or they have a learning difficulty. Eligibility for a rail card or a combined travel concession card will need to be assessed.
Depending on the degree of need the Railcard may offer either free travel or travel at a reduced rate. For an moderate annual fee the Railcard allows you to get a 1/3 off most rail fares throughout Great Britain.
- If you are over 60, a Senior Railcard is a ticket to a whole year of savings on hundreds of different journeys.
- If you have a disability that makes travelling by train difficult you might qualify for the Disabled Persons Railcard.
