Neighbourhood Crime and Justice
Hackney: a pioneer area
As part of the Justice Seen, Justice Done initiative, Hackney is one of 60 "Neighbourhood Crime and Justice pioneer areas".
These areas are commissioned by the Home Office to:
- improve access and knowledge of criminal justice agencies
- assist the public in understanding the roles and remits of these agencies and what services they offer.
The Neighbourhood Crime and Justice initiative is all about informing people about what support the criminal justice system offers local communities, and to inspire confidence in it.
This confidence is vital if residents are to report crime and anti-social behaviour or give evidence in court.
