Anti-social behaviour: common service standards
The Police, Hackney Council, Hackney Homes and housing associations in the borough all have legal powers to act on anti-social behaviour (ASB) that affects the quality of life for Hackney residents.
All these services in Hackney commit to the following standards to support victims and witnesses of anti social behaviour:
- Take reports of ASB seriously and record them properly, investigate the complaints and keep people informed of action that is taken
- Offer support and practical help to victims or witnesses
- Make sure that they have effective links with all the appropriate services within their neighbourhood that will deal with any ASB, so as to provide the most effective service
- Keep residents up to date by providing regular information to them on what action is being taken to tackle ASB in their area
- Where a victim or witness does not feel that they are receiving an effective service, support the work of the ASB Team to deal with any issues that can improve that service for the victim or witness.
