There are many organisations that can help you get more information about democracy issues. This page brings together some of them.

Operation Black Vote is the first initiative to focus exclusively on the Black democratic deficit in the UK.

Electoral Commission is an independent body set up by the UK Parliament. Their aim is integrity and public confidence in the democratic process.

london.gov.uk is the official website for the Mayor of London, the London Assembly and the Greater London Authority. They also run Young London – a website for young Londoners

Local Government Association exists to promote better local government. They run the Local Democracy Campaign which is about getting you more involved with, and aware of, your local council.

British Youth Council aims to support all young people in the UK to exercise your rights to participate in and to have a voice on issues about which you have a strong opinion.

UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) enables you to use your energy and passion to change the world for the better. Run by young people for young people, UKYP provides opportunities for 11 to 18 year olds to use creative ways to bring about social change.

The Hansard Society is an independent educational charity, which exists to promote effective parliamentary democracy. The society has given thousands of young people throughout the country their first taste of democracy and political debate through mock elections and national curriculum resources.
