Housing Benefit New Claim

To claim Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit you must complete the Council's Housing Benefit claim form.

If you have claimed Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, or Guaranteed Pension Credit, you may already have completed Council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit forms with your application for these benefits.

If you get Income-Based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Support or Guaranteed Pension Credit, you may get your full eligible rent paid.

If you do not get Income-Based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Support to Guaranteed Pension Credit, the amount of Housing Benefit you get depends on the amount of eligible rent that you pay, how many people live with you, your personal circumstances, how much money you have coming in and how much you have in savings.
