Hackney Service Centre

Hackney Service Centre is the easiest, most convenient way to get in touch with the Council.

It’s your first stop for an ever-widening range of Council services, including recycling and waste, parking, councillor details, library renewals and general enquiries about the Council.

Opening times

Telephone lines are open from 8am to 8pm weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturday. You can also email info@hackney.gov.uk or fill out an online form on service pages on this site at any time.

What you can expect our customer service officers

  • We will answer your calls in five rings.
  • We will do our best to complete your request in just one call.
  • We will respond to information requests to info@hackney.gov.uk within 24 hours.
  • We will provide 24 hour secure online access to main Council transactions and to our complaints and comments process.

Whenever you call us there will always a person on the other end of the line to deal with your enquiry.

With the answers to hundreds of frequently asked questions and a wealth of specialist knowledge at their fingertips, our customer service officers should be able to resolve your enquiry straightaway in just one call. But if they cannot, they will make sure you get through to the right person with the specialist knowledge to help you. Or they will call you back with the information you need.

Performance monitoring

The centre monitors how it is doing each month and issues a performance report that you can download here. If you would like to subscribe to receive the report each month email resourcesandperformance@hackney.gov.uk.
