Hackney Today
Hackney Today, the Council’s fortnightly free newspaper, was re-launched with a brand new look during November 2007, thanks to input from local residents. More than 400 local people took part in a consultation to help improve the newspaper.
The paper has a cleaner, brighter look and is more focused on Hackney people and communities and at the same time gives residents news and information about public services in the borough.
The ‘What’s On?’ free listings section, has been expanded into a pull out, and there are new sections dedicated to education and health, as well as old favourites like the green pages. A brand new feature, ‘Hackney People’, celebrates the remarkable residents that make Hackney special with a series of profiles of people who live in, or are connected to the borough.
