The pavement outside my home is obstructed. Builders have left a mess after working nearby
We need to take different action depending on the type of obstruction. Please call the Hackney Service Centre on 020 8356 2897 with as much detail as possible about the obstruction. Details should include the precise location, type of obstruction, when you first noticed the obstruction and the quantity of the obstruction.
If necessary, we will send our officers to the site.
I have noticed a vehicle which has been abandoned. What should I do?
We aim to remove vehicles that are abandoned in Hackney as soon as is legally possible. There are different procedures for removal based on the vehicle's condition and location. If you report an abandoned vehicle, we will investigate within 24 hours of receiving the complaint. Please visit the abandoned vehicle page for more information.
I have noticed a shop whose product display is extending across the pavement

There is some overhanging vegetation on my street
If you live on a council estate or development, please contact your Neighbourhood Office or Estate Manager. If trees, bushes or shrubs are hanging over a public highway, please contact the Hackney Service Centre on 020 8356 2897.
If the vegetation from your garden or property is hanging over a public highway you will be issued with an enforcement notice. If the vegetation is not removed within 14 days, another 14 day warning is issued. If the vegetation is not removed within this period, the Council will take action to remove it and charge the cost to the property or land owner.
