How do I report a trader trading illegally outside a private owned property?
If you wish to report a trader trading illegally please call the Hackney Service Centre on 020 8356 3367. You will be asked to provide information regarding the incident and contact details. Please note we do not accept anonymous calls for this nature of call.
I have a shop, but want to trade outside the shop as well.
To trade outside your shop you will be required to apply for a Shop Front Trading Licence. Please ring our Hackney Service Centre, on 0208 356 3367 for an application pack. Please note consideration will be given to width of pavements, goods that are permitted to be sold outside the shop and the primary commodity listed for the shop. Any of these may prevent you from trading.
Why was I given an enforcement notice?
Please ring the Hackney Service Centre on 020 8356 3367, who will be able to inform you why this was issued. If a reason given is that you do not have a licence please request an application form.
I want to sell Mobile Phones cards outside my clothes shop.
Traders are not permitted to sell items outside their shops that are not the primary commodity for that premises.
