What if I don’t bring the item(s) back on time?
Overdue Reminders
Overdue reminders are send out when an item becomes overdue, you will be sent one further reminder to return the items as charges will be increasing. Reminders are sent out to the last registered address, it is the responsibility of the borrower to ensure that we have your up-to-date address details.
Items will be charged at the following rates:
- Books, music, spoken word, language courses and selected videos/DVDs: 16p per day per item (maximum of £6 per item)
- Videos that incur a loan charge: £1 per item per 7 day loan period (maximum of £9 per item)
- DVDs that incur a loan charge: £2 per item per 7 day loan period (maximum of £12 per item)
- Under 18s, senior citizens and people with disabilities are exempt from fines EXCEPT when borrowing videos/DVDs that incur a loan charge.
What if I don’t bring them back at all?
Borrowers and guarantors are responsible for the return of all items and will be charged for the replacement or repair of any stock that is lost or damaged. Users who fail to return items will have their membership withdrawn.
