Council Departments
The Council is made up of seven directorates:
- Cheif Executive's Directorate
- Children and Young People
- Community Services
- Customer and Corporate Services
- Finance and Resources
- Legal and Democratic Services
- Neighbourhoods and Regeneration

Since 1 April 2006 Housing Services have been delivered by Hackney Homes, the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up to independently manage our landlord services. Housing Needs remains with the Council as part of Neighbourhoods and Regeneration.
Education is also delivered by an independent organisation, The Learning Trust, who work in partnership with the Council.
