Power Cut Latest
The latest update from power company EDF, is that a temporary fix is now in place which means all power has been restored. EDF are currently working on a permanent fix. Please note: when they switch over to the permanent fix there will be a short temporary loss of power.
Residents should check this website or call 020 8356 3000 for further updates.
Background to the power cut
The power cut affected parts of the E5, E8 and E9 areas. Approximately 10,000 homes were affected, and some Council services including: Adult and children’s social services based in Morning Lane, Hackney Central Library, Clapton Library, The Learning Trust and Kings Hall LC. (Library queries were handled by Homerton Library on 020 8356 1690).
Some schools in the area were also affected, see below. The Council worked with its partners to minimise disruption to services.
