Community Safety Board Launch
Local people will be able to meet representatives of Hackney police, the council, the Metropolitan Police authority and others to talk about how to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other community safety issues in Hackney, at a new consultative forum, the Hackney Community Safety Board. The Board will meet at least quarterly but no more than six times a year.
The Board’s first meeting takes place on Thursday, February 21, at Morley Hall, 125-7 Mare Street, London E8 3RH, 6 to 8pm. Members of the public are welcome.
It is being established following successful piloting by the Metropolitan Police Authority in the London boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, and Islington.
The new Board will provide a regular forum which will enable people in Hackney to understand, inform, influence, support or challenge the policing decisions and policies that affect them.
Members of the public who would like to attend should contact Jason Davis, Team Hackney Safer Cleaner partnership adviser, at Jason.davis@hackney.gov.uk.
