Kings Hall Fire
Following a serious fire at the Kings Hall Leisure centre, the building remains closed while Fire Service and Police investigations continue into the cause of the blaze.
The Council, working closely with GLL (Greenwich Leisure Ltd) who manage this and other leisure facilities in Hackney for us, are working hard to make alternative arrangements for as many users of the centre as possible.
Arrangements already in place include:
- All schools have been offered and allocated space at Britannia Health and Fitness Centre or pools in neighbouring boroughs
- Arrangements have been made for all Wellness members to use facilities at Britannia Health and Fitness Centre in Hackney or sports centres in neighbouring boroughs
- All annual pre paid members will receive two additional weeks of membership for every month the centre remains closed
- Wellness direct debit membership is currently discounted
Britannia Health and Fitness Centre remains open and together with GLL we will be continuing to seek alternative options for customers.
Both the Council and GLL will be updating their websites as soon as latest alternatives and options become available.
