Hackney In Bloom

Hackney in Bloom is a free gardening competition giving you the chance to show your green fingered skills. It aims to make the borough more attractive and raise awareness of the environment.

Our judges are keen to see an imaginative use of flowers, shrubs and displays of horticultural excellence. Marks are awarded for colour, condition and quality of plants, as well as layout and overall impact.

There are three categories (see below). Winners in each will also be entered in the London in Bloom competition.

  • Best front garden – a complete residential front garden
  • Best container garden – can be a box attached to your home ie window sill or free standing container (no flower beds,or grass)
  • Best Public House – best floral display visible to the public

NB: Entries must meet all rules such as being visible from the street.

Closing date is Friday 16 June. Judging will take place from 26 June to 30 June. The London in Bloom competition will be judged on 7 July.
