Funding Fair for Hackney’s voluntary and community sector
Key organisations in the borough will come together to provide a free half day funding and training day for voluntary and community organisations in Hackney on Wednesday 22 March at the West Reservoir Centre on Green Lanes. The partners include Hackney Council, City and Hackney Teaching Primary Care Trust, Woodberry Down and Stamford Hill SRB6 Partnership, HVA, HCVS.
The day is designed to increase the capacity of the voluntary sector and will feature:
- workshops on how to secure funding, business planning and partnership working
- a Question Time-style session chaired by Cllr Nargis Khan, Hackney Council’s cabinet member for the voluntary sector, with representatives from the voluntary sector
- Information stalls from funders and voluntary sector advisors
Councillor Khan, Hackney Council’s cabinet member with lead responsibility for the voluntary sector, welcomed the day: “Hackney is extremely lucky to have such an active voluntary sector. I know that many of the smaller organisations have difficulty with business planning and fundraising, and the day promises to provide really useful advice and assistance on these topics. I applaud the Council's partner organisations for their commitment in bringing this day together."
