Tackling Drugs Event: Musical Collective
raising drug awareness in Hackney

Hackney's Drug Action Team (DAT) is holding a free music based drug awareness event for young people at the Ocean between 4.30 and 6.30 on Tuesday 23 May, as part of National Tackling Drugs Day.

The event will feature live musical performances by In-volve’s Youth Awareness Programme Musical Collective ('Y.M.C.') including Mr Slimz (Flame FM), White Dragon (Hillingdon YAP), War Marshall (Hillingdon YAP), Wolverine (Thamesmead YAP), Byron (Thamesmead YAP), KB & JK (Birmingham HIAH), Team Spirit (Thamesmead YAP), Lightning, (Newham YAP), Leila & Jet (Thamesmead YAP) and Lady Fury (Havering YAP).

The musical acts will perform live, touching on the theme of drug awareness to stimulate the audience of young people to be more aware of drug use. They will also get positive messages about staying safe across, and tell people how to get help if it’s needed. They will also importantly introduce them to SUB19, Hackney’s young people’s drug service, who will be on hand to provide drugs information and advice.
