Extra funding for Safer Neighbourhood Teams in Hackney

Hackney Strategic Partnership, chaired by Mayor Jules Pipe, has decided to fast-track the arrival of Safer Neighbourhood Teams in Hackney.
The £3.5 million cash injection by the Partnership means that teams of uniformed community bobbies on the beat will soon become a familiar sight in all of Hackney’s 19 Wards [Find out more]

Mayor Jules Pipe and Louise Casey - head of the government's anti-social behaviour unit - witnessed a crack den raid first hand as a new, national 'It's Your Call' anti-social behaviour hotline was launched in Hackney. [Find out more]
London wins bid to host 2012 Olympics

London has won the bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games. Hackney will be one of the main host boroughs. Mayor Jules Pipe, said ‘This is a great day for British sport and for East London. Many people in Hackney pledged their support for the bid. Now we have to focus on making sure the Games delivers what it promised to local people: improved transport, regeneration, new jobs and new sports facilities.’ [Find out more]
