Work to re-open London Fields Lido begins
Work to re-open London Fields Lido, which has been closed for nearly two decades, began last week. The £2.5 million Hackney Council funded re-build will see it re-open next year as London’s only 50 metre heated outdoor pool. Hackney’s Mayor, Jules Pipe, and Cllr Nargis Khan, who holds the leisure brief, joined construction workers for the start of building work. [Find out more]
Launch of Hackney Credit Union
Mayor Pipe launched the Hackney Credit Union saying that he believed it would "play a vital role in the life of the Borough." The organisation will offer low cost loans and competitive savings accounts for the Borough's residents. [Find out more]

Sir Alan Sugar joined Mayor Pipe to celebrate the best of Hackney's business achievements at the inaugural Mayor of Hackney's Business Excellence Awards in November. [Find out more]
