Overall Financial Position

The report provides a review of the Council’s financial performance for August 2008. The full report was presented to Cabinet on 27 October 2008.

This report presents an overview monitoring statement of the Council’s Revenue Budget and includes a position statement on debt collection performance. As at the end of August 2008, the Council is forecast to have a £225k underspend on the General Fund (equivalent to 0.1% of the total net budget), which is a reduction of £389k in net expenditure compared to the July forecast. The Housing Revenue Account is projected to have an overspend of £525k, which compares to an underspend of £768k in July.
