How to Get Involved

Consultation doesn’t just have to be a one-off experience. There are a number of other ways that you can get involved:

A consultation in Hackney

Make sure you are registered

If you’re a community or voluntary group and want to make sure that we contact you when we consult  please make sure that you are registered on the Community Directory database. To do this email communitydirectory@hackney.gov.uk or call 020 8356 3112.

Come along to a neighbourhood forum

There are four in all, one for each neighbourhood. For more information visit the Neighbourhoods page or telephone 020 8356 3304.

Join a residents' association

If you’re a Council tenant or leaseholder contact the Council’s Tenant Participation Team on 020 8356 7845. if you’re a housing association resident contact your association and if you’re neither of these contact the Consultation Team who will tell you if they know of a group in your area.

Come to a scrutiny commission

They are made up of Councillors who are not members of the Cabinet. They take a cross-cutting approach to scrutinising decisions and contributing to policy development. If you would like more information about the Scrutiny process please contact the Overview and Scrutiny Team on 020 8356 3284.

Other forums - for older people to park users

There are a number of other forums and meetings for park users, leisure centre users, developers, and cultural and heritage interests. For more information contact the Consultation Team on 020 8356 3343.
