Property Services
Property Services division is responsible for the strategic and operational estate management of the Council’s land and property.

The service is provided by 5 teams:
Commercial Management
Responsible for commercial estate management of the corporate portfolio, shop lettings, property management and professional property advice
Property Strategy
Responsible for developing Corporate Property Strategies. To ensure that all the Council’s accommodation is put to optimum use encompassing:
- Civic AccommodationStrategy - to consolidate all the Council’s offices onto the two existing Town Hall sites;
- Building Schools for the Future Programme - A £108 million Government programme to upgrade and redevelop the secondary school estate;
- Development of Children’s Centres – to extend existing nursery and pre-school provision throughout the Borough;
- Library Strategy – to review existing provision, develop for the future and create satellite one stop shops throughout the Borough;
- Community Halls Strategy – strategic review to ensure optimisation of use and to meet other Borough wide community objectives.
- Depots Review Strategy – to consolidate and thereby improve the efficiency of the Council’s depot operations;
- Voluntary Sector Accommodation Strategy – consultation on proposed general letting policy and the creation of a pilot hub to co-locate voluntary groups within one building;
- Building Surveying – to support all Council building surveying requirements including DDA compliance.
Business Support
Responsible for administrative support for Property Services and estate and building maintenance services for the Council's civic estate
Statutory Valuation
Responsible for the valuation of Council owned property assets including Right to Buy, mortgage loans, leasehold enfranchisement, lease extension and annual valuations to update the authority's property assets register. Also responsible for negotiating the disposal of surplus Council property assets by auction, tender and private treaty and for the acquisition of property by agreement or under Compulsory Purchase powers.
- Regeneration Schemes – active participation in and initiation of redevelopment and regeneration schemes e.g. Woodberry Down, Colville Estate, Kings Crescent, Alexandra National House, Marion Court, Ottoway Court, Haggerston & New Kingsland Regeneration, Holly Street, Dalston Lane and Hearn Street;
