We aim to ensure that all young people in Hackney enjoy the same level of access to positive opportunities. Below you will find a range of useful links to opportunities, support and advice for young people in the borough.

Accreditations and awards
Young people can gain valuable life experience through accredited activities and schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. For suggested schemes, please see the accreditations page on the Young Hackney website.
Apprenticeships, jobs and career advice
- You can find information about apprenticeships and jobs for young people in Hackney on the Young Hackney website's jobs page or in the apprenticeships and work placement pages of this site.
- The Government's DirectGov website has lots of career advice and resources for young job-seekers in its young people's work and careers section.
Education
The Learning Trust website provides information and advice about Hackney's schools, playschemes, after-school clubs and support available for young people with special educational needs.
Funding for young people's activities
Funding for youth activities that are devised and managed by young people is available through the Hackney Youth Opportunity Fund.
General advice and guidance for young people
- Advice about health, relationships, money and staying safe is available in the advice and support section of the Young Hackney website.
- The Government's 'Young People' pages on the DirectGov website also contain a lot of very useful resources for young people, which cover a wide range of subjects.
Health advice
City and Hackney NHS run a useful website, CHYPS Plus, containing free health information and advice for Hackney Young people.
Support for young people with disabilities
Hackney Ark provides advice for carers and runs services for young people with support needs, including disabled young people and young people with learning disabilities.
Volunteering opportunities
- There are many volunteering opportunities available to young people as part of the Young Hackney Volunteers programme, which you can find out about on the Young Hackney website's volunteering section.
