Forest Road Consultation
Matthew Lloyd architects have been commissioned to develop the plans for the Myplace central facility at Forest Road.
Hackney Council is currently consulting on four options for the exterior of the building. You can view all the options and read more about them below.
If you have any comments or queries, please email them to susan.clarkson2@hackney.gov.uk.

Option 1: Terracotta cladding
This dsign derives from a fabric pattern; however, the system is very versatile and allows for a large colour and pattern variation. Windows may be fitted behind the cladding, so the building appears to light up from the inside at night.
Option 2: Tiled
This material resembles the kind of finish one might achieve with a good quality slate tile. The resulting building is very modern and crisp, and the large timber doors and windows contrast with the monochromatic tiled surfaces.
Option 3: Folded-seem zinc cladding.
This material is versatile and can be fitted in vertical and horizontal stripes or in a diagonal chequered pattern. The zinc is slightly reflective when first fitted and darkens slightly with age.
Option 4: Timber planks
Timber planks are fixed to batons and can be applied in a variety of ways (the images illustrate a herringbone pattern). The timber is soft and light and gains character as it ages.
