Results of the Zones E displacement (Abney Park) consultation on the proposed introduction of parking controls
We are pleased to announce that the results of the Zone E displacement consultation are now available. We wish to thank all those people who had their say and returned their questionnaire.
All residents and businesses in the consultation area should now have received a summary letter explaining the consultation results and the Council's final decision based on your feedback. Consultation results
Overall, we received a 27% response to the consultation - with 92% of responses coming in the form of returned questionnaires.
The majority of people (86%) who submitted their views were opposed to the introduction of parking controls.
Furthermore, no road had an overall majority in favour of parking controls. Support was highest in Martaban Road (41%) and Listria Park (39%).
Final decision
As a result of your feedback, the Council will not proceed with installing parking controls in the area.
What happens next?
The Council will continue to monitor the parking conditions in the area and will consult with local people again where a need is shown.
