The gardens are one of Hackney's more unusual green spaces, hidden away behind Bethune Road in Stoke Newington. The gardens have a natural character, with mature yew trees and areas of woodland edge interspersed with grass and play features.
The gardens are also home to Growing Communities, a food growing social enterprise. Growing Communities are always keen for help in the garden so visit their website if you would like to volunteer.
The gardens were not always a park. Find out more about the history of the gardens.

Barbecues are not allowed in Allens Gardens. If you'd like to hold a barbecue, there is a dedicated area in London Fields.
Dogs are excluded from the play area in Allens Gardens. Council officers have the power to request that dogs are put on leads if they're behaving aggressively, causing damage, or if their owner does not have appropriate control over them. More information on dogs in parks.
