Hackney Council is trialling a glyphosate-free area to promote biodiversity, increase green infrastructure, and see if abandoning the use of the herbicide means it can continue high standards of street maintenance.
Great successes were seen across the borough today, as students collected their GCSE results. The overall Year 11 results are up from last year, with Hackney again likely to exceed national results by 5%.
Local residents were dancing in the street, as Downs Park Road in Clapton came alive with festivities at this year’s Windrush Generation Street Party, organised by Uprising Community Club and Hackney Council.
