Hackney Council has announced its intention to ban the use of disposable barbecues in London Fields this summer as part of a wider crackdown on the amount of waste left in the park. Visitors to the park will still be allowed to use barbecues, but only portable, re-usable ones which will not burn the grass and are more environmentally sustainable.
Cheerleading, mosaic making and even a visit from a fire engine, there was loads to see and do at the first ever Your Homes Festival.
At 8.30pm on Saturday 24 March 2018, Hackney Council will switch off its lights for one hour in solidarity with millions people across the planet as part of the World Wide Fund for Nature’s ‘Earth Hour’.
