Reporting cruelty to animals
If you suspect that an animal of any kind is being subjected to any form of cruelty then the only organisation that can legally deal with this is the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
You can contact the their National Cruelty Helpline on 0300 1234 999.
Bronze Footprint
The Animal Warden Service has been awarded a Bronze Footprint, part of the RSPCA's Community Animal Welfare Footprints 2011 (CAWF). The footprint scheme recognises and promote those that have made an extra effort and gone beyond basic service requirements to ensure higher welfare standards in some of the services they provide.
The service entered for the Stray Dogs Bronze Footprint covering policies (which ensure stray dog welfare during the collection and kennelling processes), proactive work to educate owners and preventative measures to reduce both straying and long-term strays.
